well you see, according to the laws of matter, the intensity of a light beam measures the intensity of the energy of the beam. The amplitude of a beam is calculated from knowledge of the intensity, but amplitude is not a real entity. It is just a convenient mathematical device. If two beams have the same polarisation, another mathematical concept, then if the beams are mixed, the amplitudes have to be added, then the modulus obtained to find the new intensity of the combined beam. On the other hand, if the beams are orthogonally polarised, the intensities have to be just added together. This is all standard theory and not that of the site owner. After studying the experiments and demonstrations on this site, it will be obvious that observed intensity is NOT the same as wave or photon intensity. Although standard theories assert that there is little light nor energy in the dark fringes, this experiment shows that is not so, and there is the same amount of energy incident at both dark and bright fringe areas. There is a well-known standard "proof" that almost all the energy is in the bright fringes and hardly any in the dark areas, but it is dependent on the standard theories. Since here these theories are in question, they cannot be cited against the experimental results, otherwise we would have a circular, and therefore meaningless, argument.

Here I propose no detailed explanation of the observed effect, other than to say I use my personal explanation for all the experiments, and also in the demonstration of Young's two-slit experiment that you may download if you have not already done so. I call it the Accumulator Effect. Since both wave theory and quantum theory contain this error, regarding the distribution of photons in an interference pattern, it will be necessary to modify them if they are to continue to be taught in schools and universities. First, it will be necessary to overcome the prejudice and narrow-mindedness. Secondly the stress and fear associated with the career prospects of all teachers of these flawed theories will have to be overcome. This experiment is a modified form of Michelson's interferometer. It has two added parts. First, an additional mirror (mirror 3 in the diagram) is added to reflect back into the interferometer the light that usually forms the main output of the interferometer. The second addition is that of a second beam-splitter, placed between the laser's output and the interferometer proper. This second beam-splitter directs half the light from the single output that is heading back towards the laser, from the interferometer onto a screen. Its function is to provide a means of conveniently monitoring the interferometer's light output. A lens widens the image on the screen and again is present just for convenience. All the mirrors of the interferometer are set-up to be perfectly aligned. The means of ensuring this alignment are obvious to those familiar with working with interferometers, so no explanation here. The actual experiment is now done by moving one or more of the mirrors, 1 through 3, so that the light seen on the screen is a minimum. Of course, these adjustments are carried out with aid of specialised manipulators. Given that no matter how precisely the optical components are manufactured, there will be some imperfection in the image, so that zero light on the screen will be unlikely, nevertheless the minimum will normally be very close to zero. The question is; What has become of all the light and associated energy which enters the interferometer?

and THAT, in a complete theory, is why brandon looks like a jar of peanut butter.

drane already know's I don't like him. Kids like him are what's ****ing up our country if you ask me...this whole "**** religion, **** the government, **** my parents, **** what people say" attitude will just lead to even more problems.

Yeah, we don't get along. I dont mind it though, you can't win over everybody. And if you can, then theres a problem with you.

I don't say "fúck religion." I just don't entirely affiliate myself with any religion. This means: If someone asks me, what religion do you follow? I will most likely say none, but I was brought up Roman Catholic. Do I go to church on Christmas and Easter because my grandparents expect me to? Yes. I don't attend church really at any other time during the year.

I don't say "fúck the government." I'm not an anarchist, socialist, communist, etc. I know some anarchists, but personally, I don't think anarchism can work; especially under a conquered society. Do I think there need to be some adjustments in the goverment? Yes, everyone does. Some people just make a hobby out of it.

I don't say "fúck my parents." I love my mother and father. I don't live with my dad, but we're not on bad terms, and what do I have against them that I'd need to rebel against? They are very lenient to most anything I'd like to do. They don't work for multi-national, billion-dollar-consuming, forced-laboring corporations. They're not racist, sexist, or homophobic. Not everyone is lucky to have good parents.

I don't say "fúck what people say." I listen to what people say. Most of them atleast. If they have something intelligent to say, I'll listen. If all they know is pop cultureand themselves, I'm not going to listen. And if they want to force something on me, I'll return the favor.

If no one at all thought differently, what would be the point of living. I'm not the most radical person in the world, but atleast there are some. Even if they do support fascism or racism, they're need. I don't agree with them, I don't think they should think the way they do, but they have their place. You need opposition to come from somewhere.

I can't stand people who's head is so far up their ass you can't have a polite conversation with them without them cutting you down because they don't agree with you.

Normally, when someone describes a peer as "having their head up their ass," they normally mean they are quite self-absorbed. Being self-absorbed would mean all I cared about was what was going on in my personal life and that I gave little interest in anything not affecting myself directly.

I don't care about every issue in the world. But I do care about some in which I have interest in, and think are important. I don't preach to people about them, but if a discussion comes up (not just on this board, in everyday life, aswell) about a topic I have interest in, or would like to know more about, I'll jump in on it. I feel the best way to gain knowledge or learn something is see it done, then do it. Listening/Watching, Reinforcing. Listen to/Read numerous people's opinions on a topic, and Reinforce it by stating the opinion you've concluded by yourself through the research/listening/reading you've done.

Personally I think he's just an idiot who gets picked on alot in real life.

What would drive you to this conclusion? No one picks on me. If I have a problem with someone, I, for the most part, leave them alone, I don't pursue them. If they pursue me, I will defend myself, of course, but nothing more than words.

When it comes to actual physical "bullying," then I'm extremely passive. Violence shows you can't defend yourself intellectually. I'd rather be as weak as The Bubble Boy and have an Edison-like mind, than be Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I know this was a small point in your...speech...but I was just curious. What's wrong with winning everyone over? That'd sure as hell come in handy.
