Awhile ago when napster was big AOL was huge for serving warez, music albums, etc. This was a list I populated so I can get my downloads.

You would enter the chatroom and you would find someone that was serving, you would type in there screen name and say /get list. Soon they will e-mail you a HTML list document with all of the stuff they had for download.
Once you found the stuff you wanted you could say ScreenName send 200-235 basically sending you the files from (200-235). They had uploaders that would upload the content into their e-mail clients and would forward you the content and you would add it to your download manager. Man back in the day on 56K downloading an album would take around 8 hours to download (maybe longer).
